Itinerary

Meet and Greet is done over lunch at the Grotta Su Marmuri restaurant just above Ulassai, for a typical Sardinian lunch and get to know each other while we fill our bellies.

After lunch we take a stroll into the famous Su Marmuri cave and check out the first of many attractions.

This geological wonder will start your holiday with a sense of mystique and get you in the mood for adventure.

* We are however at your disposal, so if you prefer, or you’re feeling tired after a long trip, then the tour leader will accompany you after lunch to our hotel complex for some welcome rest.

After touring the cave, we’ll all go to the hotel, check in and assemble the bikes. A fully stocked toolkit will be at your disposal.

After a good Italian breakfast, we jump on our bikes and head off from the hotel, straight into the wilderness. After an easy one hour cruise, and a 30 minute climb on a dirt road in the vast nature reserve of Taccu, we’ll reach the ancient watch tower Su Taccu, on the highest point of the plateau at 1000(m.s.l).

From this point our local guide will point out the breath-taking territory surrounding us, that we will cover in the first two days.

The first trail will throw you right into the action, following our guide along ancient hunting trails, traversing through an enchanted forest onto an open shelf, then following a ridgeline, all the way down into the valley.

After our meal, we’ll continue riding without any climbing involved this time, down to the valley floor, before returning back up in our shuttle - always waiting for us.

When we’ve satisfied our appetite for riding, we’ll head back up to Ulassai for a refreshing Italian aperitivo, with the option of visiting the old train station museum of the world renowned artist Maria Lai, and/or the "Cooperativa Tessile", to witness the ancient craft of weaving with a hand loom. A traditional artisan craft that is amazing to see!

After breakfast, we’ll check-out and transfer 30 minutes by shuttle to Perda Liana, where our guide will take us on a mystical tour around this gigantic rock tooth. The ride down starts steep and technical, before becoming a gentle trail that follows the stream down to our pic-nic spot, like something from a fairy tale!

After lunch, we’ll climb on an abandoned railway track and continue with more amazing views and cultural attractions, such as the ancient shepherd’s huts and the majestic Serbissi Nuraghe, a 3800 year old castle.

At the end of our day the shuttle awaits us to transfer down to the coast, for the second half of our trip.
After an hour coasting down to the valley, we’ll check in to our Hotel Agugliastra and meet again after a quick rest.

You’ll then probably want to take an easy stroll on Santa Maria's beach before dinner and enjoy the sea air. We suggest an independent evening, an aperitivo & sea food dinner with your friends or partner is highly recommended!

Again, the tour leader is always at your disposal in case you need suggestions; finding the right place for a meal, or would like a lift to anywhere in the coastal area (Bari Sardo – Tortoli – Arbatax - Santa Maria) for a quick visit or night cap.

A big ride down to one of the magnificent coves of Baunei awaits. The shuttle will take us to the starting point from where we will start pedalling, surrounded by stupendous views, our destination being one of the isolated coves. for a refreshment on the beach, a quick dip in the sea and jumping onboard the boat that will take us back to the port near our hotel.

We’ll disembark at the Marina di Santa Maria and head back to the hotel on our bikes, just a couple of minutes away. There will be time to visit the beach again if you wish, before heading together to a local farm for a traditional dinner that you won't forget.

After the check out in the morning, we jump back in the shuttle for some runs down spectacularly scenic mixed terrain, both smooth and technical trails. We’ll also stop to check out some of the hidden natural and cultural wonders along the way.

After few rides from Baunei heights down the valley near Triei, we’ll do a quick stop for lunch and keep riding until 15:00. Leaving time to pack up and wave you off to wherever your next destination might be.

If you’ve got a return Airport/Ferry transfer booked with us, then we will transfer you to Olbia in time for your next link. Be sure to not have any flights booked to depart prior to 20:00.
