Cinque Terre - Relax, we got time.

The region of Liguria follows the coast from southern La Spezia, curving all the way to Ventimiglia on the French border at Menton. It’s idyllic scenery and world renowned "dolce vita" lifestyle makes it perfect for your first Italian mtb vacation.

With the mountain bike scene blowing up in Finale, we decided to avoid the crowds and focus on the eastern part of Liguria, on the border with Tuscany. Similar to our Hit and Run Tour, but with more time to fully appreciate both regions.

Itinerary

Independent arrival in San Terenzo, details will be provided during the booking.

On a half hour transfer to check into the high trail tour that climbs up 600m and drops 1000m down all the way to the coast of Levanto.

After lunch we'll take the train back to La Spezia, then it's back into the shuttle and up to Mount Rocchetta for the Venere trail, which we ride all the way back to the Hotel.

After a 40 minute shuttle transfer, we jump on the saddle and start off on a tarmac liaison, with a beautiful coastal view nonetheless, then coast down a combination of dirt roads with a cool 300 meter drop, to finally get on a super fun and smooth trail that will give you a hint on what’s waiting.

So that at the end of the first ride, we’ll be eager to pedal back up to where the trail started, because, after the short 300m climb, we’re taking an endless three hour ride on a trail that’s just magic all the way to the bottom.

Because we can never get enough, we jump back in the shuttle for one more! …and to finish off on a high, we get on a wonderful mellow ride with a splendid panorama down of the shore. Our destination is the Marina di Deiva.

After the morning ritual, ‘il cafe al bar’, we'll set off crossing the regional border into Tuscany, for Mount Brugiana - an enduro mtb heaven with views of the world-renowned Carrara white marble quarries.

Our lunch will be served on an open terrace overlooking the city and the sea.
After our post lunch coffee, we'll pedal up to the end of the dirt road, before riding down an incredible trail with 900m of drop and including all aspects a good trial must have; some technical sections, but mostly fast, flowy, and fun! Good times all the way back down to the city where our aperitivo awaits.

Shuttle transfer inland to Garfegnana, between the Appennines and the Apuan alps. Today will feel different as we'll be riding without a view of the sea, amongst steep alpine terrain, through majestic beech forests and passing ancient villages with their thriving local Tuscan traditions.

On a loop with constant up and down, for a total of 800 meters of climb on natural trails. We'll stop for lunch at Castel Nuovo della Garfagnana. A typical medieval town, seemingly lost in time with its romantic vibes and its imposing fortified centre.

From the little town San Terenzo, we'll take a quick 15 minute transfer to the city of La Spezia. There we will get onboard of the Cinque Terre Express.
We jump on the bikes and climb 750 meters, with stunning views of the Cinque Terre below us.
This trail has it all, from flowy up and downs, some short climbs and lots of downwards action, all in the midst of spectacular scenery.

After filling our tummies we'll hop on the boat that will bring us to the little island of Palmaria.
Back on the bikes for a loop of the island, first on a mellow up hill to the top of Palmaria, then down a trail on the opposite side of the island, looking out into the blue of the Mediterranean Sea towards Corsica.

Packing and leaving to your destination.
